Measuring Quality Change in the Market for Anti-Ulcer Drugs
Rehan Haider, Asghar Mehdi, Anjum Zehra, Geetha Kumari Das, Zameer Ahmed, Sambreen Zameer
This study builds a quality-adjusted price index for anti-ulcer drugs, using the measured attributes of the drugs themselves rather than list price alone. It sets out why an unadjusted price index can mislead in a market whose products are multidimensional and are being changed rapidly. It sits within the journal’s remit as health-economics research on the treatment of peptic ulcer disease.
