Indexing and Discovery
Where the journal's articles are identified, harvested, discoverable and preserved. Each service does a different job, and they are listed separately so that what the journal has can be told apart from what it has not.
Category one
Journal identifiers
ISSN
ISSN 2574-4372
The journal's registered serial identifier, used to cite and to locate the title itself.
Category two
DOI registration
Crossref
A registered DOI for every published article
The journal is a Crossref member title under Open Access Pub, and every article in the published record carries a registered DOI that resolves to the article of record. DOI registration provides persistent identification and reference linking; it is a registration service and not a form of indexing.
Category three
Metadata harvesting
OAI-PMH
Article metadata is openly harvestable
The publisher exposes an OAI-PMH endpoint, so libraries, aggregators and discovery systems can harvest the journal's article metadata directly rather than relying on a crawl.
Category four
Discovery services
Where articles are findable
Services carrying the journal's articles
These are open scholarly discovery systems that hold records for the journal's articles. They make work findable and citable; they do not select titles for inclusion in the way a curated index does.
- OpenAlex — source record for the journal
- Semantic Scholar — article records
Confirmed against each service on 23 September 2026.
Search engines
Metadata for academic search
Every article page carries the bibliographic metadata that academic search engines read, so that title, authors, journal, date, volume, issue, pages and the PDF location are available to them directly from the page.
Category five
Selective journal-level indexing
The journal's current verified status is registration, harvesting and open discovery, as set out above.
Authors who need to confirm coverage in a particular database for a funder or an institution are welcome to ask the editorial office what the journal's present status is, and the answer will be the verified one.
Category six
Digital preservation
This journal’s content is committed to Portico, a not-for-profit digital-preservation archive run by ITHAKA (the organization behind JSTOR). As articles are deposited they enter Portico’s permanent archive, so the scholarly record stays available for the long term — even if a title one day ceases to publish.
Funder deposit
PubMed Central deposit for NIH-funded work
Eligible NIH-funded manuscripts may be deposited individually in PubMed Central through the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS).
This is a route for an individual manuscript that a funder mandate requires to be deposited. It is carried out per article and is separate from journal-level indexing in PubMed, MEDLINE or PubMed Central.
