Call for Papers
International Journal of Inflammation Research welcomes submissions throughout the year from researchers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams working across inflammation research. Regular submissions are accepted throughout the year.
What the journal is reading for
Questions the editors want to see answered
These are directions, not requirements. Work that sits inside the Aims & Scope is welcome whether or not it falls under one of them.
Mechanism
Studies that establish how a mediator, receptor or regulatory pathway shapes an inflammatory response, and what happens when that control is removed or restored.
Context
Work that shows why the same mechanism behaves differently in different tissues, organs or disease settings — including work that reports a result which does not transfer.
Resolution
Research on how an inflammatory response is brought to an end, on repair, and on what determines whether resolution or persistence follows.
Measurement
Biomarkers, models, imaging and analytical methods that make an inflammatory process observable, and the validation that establishes what they measure.
Negative and confirmatory results are read on the same terms as positive ones where the design supports the conclusion.

What to expect
Review
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Decisions
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
Editorial decisions remain independent of fees, memberships, roles and paid services.
Preparation
The Instructions for Authors set out what the manuscript must contain and what has to be declared at submission.
Terms
Articles are published open access under CC BY 4.0, authors retain copyright, and the article processing charge is invoiced only after acceptance.
