Submit a manuscript
Three approved routes into the International Journal of Neonatology. Choose whichever suits you: a manuscript receives the same screening, the same review and the same decision whichever route it arrives by.

The routes
How to submit
Primary route · ManuscriptZone
The publisher’s submission system, where a submission can be tracked through review and revisions are uploaded against the same record.
Alternative route · Submission form
A short web form for authors who would rather not create an account. It opens with the International Journal of Neonatology already selected.
Assisted route · Editorial office
The editorial office will accept a manuscript by email and enter it for you. Attach the manuscript and the title page, and say which article type you are submitting.
One route per manuscript
Authors must use only one submission route for the same manuscript.

Before you start
What to have ready
The full requirements are in Instructions for Authors. These are the items every route asks for.
The manuscript
An editable word-processor file with pages and lines numbered, a structured abstract and keywords, and a separate title page carrying the author details.
The reporting checklist
The completed checklist for the guideline that matches the study design, such as CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, CARE, STARD, SQUIRE or ARRIVE.
Approvals
The research ethics committee name and reference, the parental consent statement, and the registry name, number and date where the study is an interventional trial.
Statements
A data-availability statement, conflict-of-interest declarations for every author, the funding statement, and an AI-use disclosure where applicable.
Figures and tables
Figures at a resolution that stays legible in print, tables as editable text, and permissions for any reused material.
Review preference
If you want double-blind review, say so on submission and supply an anonymized manuscript alongside the title page.

After submission
What happens next
Screening
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Review
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Decision
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. Decisions remain independent of fees, services, membership, and editorial or reviewer roles.
Charges
There is no submission fee and no charge for review. The article processing charge is invoiced only after acceptance; the amount is on Article Processing Charges.
Withdrawing
An author who decides to take a manuscript elsewhere should withdraw it first. The terms are on Article Processing Charges.
