How editorial responsibility works
An editor’s role is to decide whether a manuscript belongs to this field, to choose reviewers who can judge it, and to reach a decision the record can support.
Appointments to the board are made by the publisher. Questions about the board, including proposals to join it, go to the editorial office.
- Review model
- Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
- Reviewers
- Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
- Decisions
- Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
- Independence
- Those decisions remain independent of fees, services, memberships, and roles.
