Preparing a manuscript for this journal
This page sets out what Journal of ADHD And Care asks for, in the order an author needs it: scope first, then the manuscript itself, then the declarations, then how to submit.
Requirements that depend on the manuscript type or the study design are noted where they apply, and the editorial office confirms any further requirement a particular manuscript raises.
Before you start
Read the journal’s scope before preparing a submission. A manuscript is in scope when it makes a substantive research question, analysis, method, interpretation, or contribution about ADHD, or about the care that surrounds ADHD across the life course.

Preparing the manuscript
Submit the manuscript as an editable text file rather than a scan or a flattened export, so it can be copy-edited and typeset.
Include a structured abstract, keywords, and the sections your study design calls for. Follow the reporting guideline appropriate to the design and cite it in the methods.
Figures and tables are numbered in the order they are first mentioned, each with a caption that can be read on its own, and supplied at a resolution that stays legible in print.
Ethical declarations
Studies involving people report ethics-committee or institutional review board approval and the consent procedures followed. Research involving animals reports its approval and welfare standards.
Interventional clinical trials must be registered in an accepted public trial registry at or before the first participant provides consent for enrollment. The registry name, registration number, and registration date must be reported in the manuscript.
Authors disclose funding sources and any financial or institutional relationships that could bear on the work.
Data and materials
Every empirical research manuscript must include a data-availability statement.
Where data cannot be shared, the statement says so and gives the reason and the conditions under which access may be possible.
If you request double-blind review
For double-blind review, remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, funding details, institution names, and other identifying information from the reviewer manuscript. Provide identifying information separately in the title-page file or submission form.
After submission
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Authors receive the editor’s decision with the reviewers’ comments, and revised manuscripts are returned to the handling editor with a point-by-point response.
