Propose a Special Issue
Journal of ADHD And Care welcomes proposals for focused collections that address important questions in ADHD research and the care that surrounds it. Researchers with relevant expertise are invited to review the proposal requirements and contact the editorial office.
A collection is a way of assembling work that answers one question from several directions at once — across methods, settings, or stages of life — and giving it a shape a reader can follow.
What a proposal needs to show
Every collection sits inside the journal’s remit
Every article in a collection is in scope on the same test as any other submission: it makes a substantive research question, analysis, method, interpretation, or contribution about ADHD, or about ADHD-related care.
An interdisciplinary theme is welcome. Where a collection draws on another field, the proposal states plainly what each strand contributes about ADHD, so the contribution of every strand is explicit.

The question
The question the collection exists to answer, and why assembling several papers answers it better than one would.

The relationship to ADHD
How each intended strand contributes something about ADHD or ADHD-related care, in its question, its analysis or its interpretation.

Guest editors
Who would edit the collection, their relevant expertise, and any interest they hold in the work they would handle.

Shape and timing
Roughly how many articles are expected, what kinds of work are sought, and the period over which the collection would be assembled.
How a collection is handled
A collection changes who assembles the articles; review and decision follow the journal’s ordinary process.
Review
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Every manuscript in a collection goes through the journal’s ordinary review process. Being invited into a collection is not a decision on the manuscript.
Guest editor conflicts
A guest editor does not handle a manuscript they have authored or co-authored, or one where they hold a competing interest. Those manuscripts are reassigned to an editor independent of the collection.
Decisions
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
Editorial decisions remain independent of fees, services, memberships, and roles.
