Propose a Special Issue
Journal of Cervical Cancer welcomes proposals for focused collections that address important questions across cervical cancer — from virology and mechanism through prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment to outcomes, epidemiology and the delivery of care.
Researchers with relevant expertise are invited to review the proposal requirements below and contact the editorial office at [email protected].
What a proposal should contain
- Write to the editorial office with the proposed subject, why it warrants a collection now, and the questions you expect contributions to address.
- Name the proposed guest editors, with their affiliations and their standing in the subject, and declare any interest that bears on the work likely to be submitted.
- Set out the expected scale and the period over which the collection would be open.
- The editorial office responds with a decision on the proposal and, where it proceeds, the terms on which the collection is announced and handled.
How a collection is handled
A manuscript submitted to a collection is assessed exactly as any other submission to the journal. All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts. Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
Guest editors work under the journal’s editorial policies and declare their interests. A guest editor takes no part in handling their own submission, or one where their judgment could reasonably be questioned; those manuscripts are assigned independently within the journal.
Editorial decisions are independent of fees, services, memberships and roles.
