Submit Manuscript

Three routes reach the Journal of Immunization's editorial office. They differ only in the mechanics of getting a file to the editors; the assessment that follows is identical.

Authors must use only one submission route for the same manuscript.

Choose a route

Where to send the manuscript

Choose whichever suits the way you work. Using more than one for the same manuscript creates duplicate records and delays the assessment.

Submission routes

  1. Primary route: ManuscriptZonehttps://oap.manuscriptzone.net/
  2. Alternative route: Simple manuscript submission formopenaccesspub.org/manuscript-submission-form?journal=ji
  3. Assisted route: Editorial email[email protected]

Authors must use only one submission route for the same manuscript.

Before you send

What the editors need with the manuscript

A submission that arrives complete is assessed on the work rather than held for missing declarations.

01

The manuscript itself

An abstract appropriate to the article type; for Original Research, a structured abstract covering objectives, methods, results and conclusions; keywords reflecting the vaccine type, population and setting; standard section headings; complete references including DOIs where available.

02

Ethics and consent

Ethics-committee approval and informed consent where human participants are involved; the approving body and welfare standards where animals are; documented consent to publish for identifiable individuals.

03

Registration, data and funding

Trial registry name, number and date for interventional trials; a data-availability statement for empirical research; the funders of the work and their role.

04

Interests and authorship

Competing-interest disclosures for every author, and confirmation that each listed author contributed substantially and approves the submitted version.

05

If you want double-blind review

For double-blind review, remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, funding details, institution names, and other identifying information from the reviewer manuscript. Provide identifying information separately in the title-page file or submission form.

The Instructions for Authors page sets these out in full.

What happens next

The path is the same whichever route the manuscript arrived by.

Screening
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Peer review
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Decisions
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. Decisions remain independent of fees, membership, editorial roles and paid services.
If accepted
An article processing charge applies to accepted articles and is payable after acceptance; the schedule is on the Article Processing Charges page. Articles are published open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, with authors retaining copyright.
If you withdraw
Withdrawal terms are published on the Article Processing Charges page. Authors should contact the editorial office promptly and wait for written confirmation before submitting the work elsewhere.
