Article Processing Charges
The Journal of Immunization is open access: every article is free to read, and publication is funded by a charge to the authors rather than by subscriptions.
The charge applies to an accepted manuscript. Submission, screening and peer review carry no charge.
The schedule
Standard article processing charges
The charge depends on the type of article accepted. These are the journal's current published rates, stated in United States dollars.

Invoices are issued after editorial acceptance and are sent to the corresponding author or to the billing contact given at submission. Questions about an invoice go to [email protected].

The charge funds the work between acceptance and a permanent, openly readable article.

Editorial handling and review management
Running the assessment: assigning editors, identifying and corresponding with reviewers, and managing revision rounds to a decision.

Production
Copyediting, typesetting and layout, figure and table preparation, and proofing with the authors.

Identifiers and metadata
DOI registration with Crossref and the metadata deposit that makes an article findable and citable.

Open hosting and preservation
Publishing the article without a paywall, and committing it to long-term digital preservation so the record survives.

Withdrawal
Withdrawing a manuscript
These are the publisher's withdrawal terms, and they apply to every journal in the portfolio.
Withdrawal policy
- Authors should contact the editorial office promptly and wait for written confirmation before submitting the work elsewhere.
- Manuscripts withdrawn within 3 days of submission are not subject to a withdrawal charge.
- Manuscripts withdrawn more than 3 days after submission incur a withdrawal charge equal to 30% of the journal's APC.
- Authors must receive official withdrawal confirmation before submitting the manuscript to another journal.
