Journal of ADHD And Care welcomes submissions throughout the year from researchers, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams working across ADHD and the care that surrounds it.
Manuscripts are read as they arrive, against the journal’s stated remit and the criteria its editors apply.
What the journal is looking for
Work that contributes something about ADHD, or about the care around it
The test is the same one the Aims and Scope page sets out: a substantive research question, analysis, method, interpretation, or contribution about ADHD, or about ADHD-related care across the life course.
Breadth is deliberate. Mechanistic and basic work, measurement and methodology, life-course research, clinical and care scholarship, education, work and participation, families and caregivers, co-occurrence, and services research are all within the remit.
Theoretical, observational, review and policy scholarship is read on the same terms as applied and interventional work.
Signals of a strong fit
Work of these kinds sits naturally in the journal’s remit.
Work that crosses a boundary
Studies that connect mechanism to everyday function, or evidence to the setting where care is actually delivered.
Careful measurement
Instrument development, validation and psychometric work, including studies that report the limits of a measure.
Under-represented stages
ADHD in adolescence, adulthood and later life, where the literature is thinner than it is for childhood.
Honest interpretation
Manuscripts whose conclusions stay within what the design supports, including null and inconclusive findings reported in full.
What the journal asks of a submission
Four expectations apply to every manuscript, whatever its design or discipline.
Relevance
The manuscript makes a substantive contribution about ADHD or about ADHD-related care, and says plainly what that contribution is.
Rigor
Design, sample, measures and analysis are reported in enough detail for another team to evaluate and repeat the work, following the reporting guideline appropriate to the design.
Responsible interpretation
Conclusions stay within what the design and the data support. Null, negative and inconclusive findings are welcome, reported in full.
Declarations
Ethical approvals and consent procedures, funding and competing interests, and a data-availability statement for empirical work accompany the manuscript.

Review
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
Decisions
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
Editorial decisions remain independent of fees, services, memberships, and roles.
