Journal of Energy Conservation · Membership
Membership
Membership is optional and supports the journal’s open-access publishing. It relates to publication fees and the journal community, while manuscripts are reviewed and decided independently of it.
The boundary of membership
What membership covers
- A discount on the article processing charge for eligible articles, set by membership category.
- An annual membership fee, with a reduced rate for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
- A way for researchers, laboratories, and institutions to support open-access publishing in energy conservation.
Editorial decisions remain independent
Membership confers no advantage in the review or acceptance of a member’s own manuscripts.
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. Decisions remain independent of fees, services, memberships, and editorial roles.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
Categories
Membership categories
PhD students and postdoctoral researchers qualify for a 50% reduction in the membership fee; current academic status is verified at application. The article processing charge is USD 1,499 before any membership discount.
