Identification, discovery and preservation

How the journal's articles are identified and found

These are four different things, and this page keeps them apart: the identifiers that name the journal and its articles, the metadata that lets services find them, the funder route that places eligible manuscripts in a public repository, and the archive that keeps the record available.

Only what can be checked appears here. Where a service's coverage has not been confirmed for this journal, it is left for the editorial office to confirm on request.

Journal identifier
ISSN 3070-2232, registered for the Journal of Farming.
Article identifiers
Each article record carries a DOI, shown on the article page. Where a DOI is registered with Crossref it resolves to the article and supports citation linking.
Article metadata
Article pages publish structured citation metadata — title, authors, journal, volume, issue, pages, date and identifiers — in the form discovery services read.
Preservation
Committed to Portico. See the statement below.
Funder deposit
An NIH route is available for eligible manuscripts. See the statement below.

Digital preservation

Keeping the record available

This journal’s content is committed to Portico, a not-for-profit digital-preservation archive run by ITHAKA (the organization behind JSTOR). As articles are deposited they enter Portico’s permanent archive, so the scholarly record stays available for the long term — even if a title one day ceases to publish.

Read our preservation policy.

Deposit for funded work

PubMed Central

Eligible NIH-funded manuscripts may be deposited individually in PubMed Central through the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS).

Individual manuscript deposit through that route is a service to funded authors. It is separate from journal-level indexing, and it is not a statement about the journal's inclusion in PubMed, MEDLINE or PubMed Central.

Verified journal-level indexing

What the journal states about indexing

The journal publishes an indexing statement only for a database that has independently confirmed inclusion of the Journal of Farming. Confirmed entries will be listed here with the date each was checked.

Authors who need the current position for a funder, an institution or a research assessment can ask the editorial office, which will answer with what has been confirmed at that date.

Clear titles, precise keywords and complete abstracts help every discovery service match an article to the readers looking for it; the requirements are set out in Instructions for Authors.
