Membership of the Journal of Respiratory Diseases is voluntary. It supports the journal's open-access publishing and carries a reduced article processing charge.

How membership works
A publishing relationship, entered by choice
Researchers, clinicians and institutions who publish with the journal, or who want to support open-access publishing in respiratory medicine, may take out membership for a fixed term.
What it changes
Membership reduces the article processing charge payable after acceptance, and carries the practical items listed below. That is the whole of its effect.
Editorial independence
Editorial assessment, peer review and publication decisions are made on the manuscript alone and remain independent of membership status. Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.

- A 15% reduction in the article processing charge
- Listing in the member directory and a certificate of membership
- The journal's research newsletter
Institutional Partner
USD 999 per year
- A 25% reduction in the article processing charge for affiliated authors
- An annual report of the institution's publications in the journal
- An institutional profile on the journal's site
Lifetime Fellow
USD 1,499 one time
- A 30% reduction in the article processing charge on all future submissions
- Listing in the fellows directory
