Journal of Energy Conservation welcomes submissions throughout the year from researchers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams working across energy conservation and efficiency.
Regular submissions are accepted throughout the year.
The journal publishes experimental, computational, field, review, methodological, and policy research that makes a clear contribution to energy conservation, energy efficiency, or the integration of renewable energy into sustainable energy systems. Industry partnerships are welcome when the relationship is described clearly in the manuscript.
Questions about whether a manuscript fits the journal can be sent to the editorial office before submission.

Preparing a submission
What a strong submission shows
- A clear contributionThe work advances energy conservation, efficiency, or renewable integration, and states that contribution explicitly.
- Evidence matched to claimsPerformance claims come with appropriate validation and uncertainty analysis, and cost assumptions are reported when relevant.
- Complete reportingMethods are described in enough detail to be replicated, and empirical manuscripts include a data-availability statement.
- Originality and authorshipThe work is original, is not under consideration elsewhere, and every author meets the authorship criteria and has agreed to submission.

Review and publication terms
- Screening
- All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
- Review model
- Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
- Decisions
- Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
- Open access
- Articles are published under CC BY 4.0, and authors retain copyright.
- Fees
- The article processing charge is USD 1,499, invoiced upon acceptance.
